I'm Christine, the artist behind My Old Friends in Melbourne, Australia.
I am lucky enough to live in Patterson Lakes, a city suburb which is
all built around man made waterways.
Its a very peaceful place to live as we are far enough away from the
city to be almost in the country but close enough to be able to commute.
The waterways lead out into beautiful Port Philip Bay and many of the
residents commute by boat into Melbourne or as far away as Tasmania right
from their own doorstep.
Many of my bears come to life as I sit by the water in summer or sit
and view from inside during our cold winters.
All my bears are completely hand made be me. I have no outside help
and as such I often have a waiting list for my creations. I have actually
reduced the wait lately and occasionally add some available for immediate
adoption bears too.
I always offer my new creations first to my mailing list so please email
me if you would like to join and then you too can take advantage of the
offers.
I teach bear making at a few venues in Melbourne and have recently
joined forces with Joan Farrely from Everlasting Bears to form On Line
Bear Making Classes which have been enormously popular with all the students.
The only complaint we have had is we want more which is VERY gratifying.
If I can help you at any time please do not hesitate to email me.
Now take hold of the child in you and visit "My Old Friends".
Hugs
Christine
This picture was taken on a recent visit to a wildlife sanctuary. It
just goes to prove that teddy bears are a comfort to everyone - even wombats.
This wombat's Mum was a victim of road kill and the baby was given
a bear to love. Look how he even has his arm around the bear as he sleeps
on him.
